We are really looking forward to seeing you all in June! To best answer the many questions that have been coming up, we’ve created a FAQ.

~~ PREPARING FOR THE CONFERENCE/COMPETITION ~~
Q: When is the conference?
A: Friday June 22 – Monday June 25, 2012
Q: Can we make a new routine, different from the try-out piece?
A: Please consult with your Territory Line and Ikeda Youth Ensemble Leaders.
Q: Is there a time limit to the routine for the competition?
A: Yes. The routine CANNOT exceed 4 minutes.
Q: For the competition, can we perform in costume?
A: If, as part of your presentation, you would like to perform in a uniform or costume, yes, you may certainly do so.
~~ TRAVELING TO AND FROM THE CONFERENCE ~~
Q: My instrument seems too big to travel with, what should I do?
A: Please speak with your group leader and Ikeda Youth Ensemble Leader ASAP. Based on your request, we will do our best to arrange for you to be provided with an instrument while you are at SUA.
Q: How do fly with my instrument? I’m worried it might be damaged.
A: This is a very important precaution. To minimize surprises the day of your flight please take the time ASAP to research these great online resources:
~~ AT THE CONFERENCE ~~
Q: How much rehearsal time will we have at SUA?
A: FRI: 12-6PM, SAT 2-5PM, SUN 10AM-12:30PM. While you will be provided with this rehearsal time, please make sure your routine is complete and rehearsed before you arrive.
Q: Will each taiko group be provided with a set of drums for rehearsals?
A: Yes. However, you most likely will be rehearsing on different types of drums for the rehearsals than in the competition. The set of drums you use each rehearsal may change as well.
Q: When is the competition?
A: Sunday, June 24th at 1PM
